National Agriculture Day: Council Proclamation

Scholarship Opportunities 
Montgomery County Farm Bureau will be offering scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year to assist Montgomery County students pursuing higher education. Scholarship applications are due by Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Please submit application via email to Eric Spates at All applicants or their parents/guardians must be members, in good standing as of 4/15/2022, of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau to be eligible to apply.  Scholarship application here.

Montgomery County Farm Bureau members celebrate 4th of July at the White House for President Trumps Salute to America celebration. This event honored those who have been deemed essential workers throughout the pandemic. Pictured below: Lonnie and Mina Luther and Todd and Anita Greenstone.

The Montgomery County Farm Bureau, Inc., with contributions from the Edward Byrd Foundation, realizes the importance of supporting the next generation in order to keep agriculture viable and to keep family farms and agriculture related businesses in the state of Maryland. To further this purpose, the Montgomery County Farm Bureau is pleased to offer $30,000 in scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year. These scholarships are intended to assist students who have demonstrated exceptional character, scholarship, and talent, who are interested in pursuing an education and eventual career in Maryland’s agricultural, plant related, and/or educational fields. Students interested in ornamental horticulture and related studies: apply for the Robert & Shirley Magnum Memorial scholarship! Applications are due April 1, 2020.

Thank you to Waredaca Farm and Brewery for hosting our 2019 Farm to Table dinner. Over 150 guests and farmers enjoyed a delicious meal featuring local beef, chicken, goat, lamb, cheeses, vegetables, fruit, wine, and beer in the pasture field.
